Fan motor does not operate
a) No power to fan motor
b)
Defective fan motor
winding or frozen motor
shaft
a) Check for 120VAC supplied to the fan motor. If no
voltage is present, check the selector switch for
continuity and check for broken wiring between the
selector switch and fan motor. If voltage is present,
then proceed to next step.
b) Check the motor winding for continuity. Check for a
frozen motor shaft and check for broken wiring
between the motor and neutral terminal block.
Oven light does not operate
a) Burned out bulb(s)
b) Defective light switch
c) Defective light socket
a) Replace
bulb(s)
b) Check light switch contacts for continuity
c) Check for 120 VAC at the light socket terminals. . If
voltage is present, replace the socket. If no voltage
is present, check for broken wiring between the
light switch and light socket.
Oven light remains on
Defective light switch
Check light switch contacts for continuity. Replace light
switch.
Oven indicator light does not
come on.
a) No power to the indicator
light
b) Defective indicator light
a) Check for broken wiring between the thermostat
and indicator and from the indicator to the neutral
terminal block.
b) Check for 120 VAC at the indicator terminals. If
voltage is present, replace the indicator.
No spark at top burners
a) No power
b) Broken
igniter
c) Wire connection, pinched
wire
d) Valve
switch
e) Defective spark module
f) Gap too large between
burner and electrode
a) Check power source
b) Replace spark electrode
c) Check connection between spark electrode and
spark module
d) Check continuity on valve switch. If there is no
continuity, replace the switch. If continuity exists,
check all wire connections.
e) Replace spark module
f) Reposition electrode closer to burner port
Delayed ignition on top
burner
a) Electrode
position
b) Clogged ports on burner
c) Too much primary air
through venturi
a) Align electrode with burner port
b) Clean or replace burner
c) Adjust air shutter and reduce primary air.
Intermittent spark or ghost
spark (occurs when ign. is in
the off position approx.
every 20 seconds).
Lack of or improper ground.
Check ground at outlet. Check spark module ground.
Continued re-ignition on top
burner.
a) Defective valve switch or
incorrect switch
b) Position of spark electrode
c) Burner valve switch and
spark module wiring
crossed
d) Lack of or improper ground
e) Defective spark module
a) Replace
switch
b) Align spark electrode with burner port
c) Check schematic for correct wiring of burner and
spark module.
d) Check ground outlet. Check ground at the module.
e) Replace spark module.
Yellow tipping – produces
soot and blocks flue ways
a) Lack of primary air due to
incorrect air shutter
adjustment
b) Blocked, dirty primary air
openings or blocked burner
a) Open air shutter to get rid of the yellow tips.
CAUTION! Too much primary air will cause lifting,
noisy flames. Balance must be achieved.
b) Clean and re-adjust burner.
