TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Potential cause
Possible solution
No ticking sound but
after inserting the
battery, the clock
moves.
You have bought a
completely silent
watch.
After inserting the
battery, see the gears
turning in the gearbox
above the battery; let
the clock run and check
the time later.
The clock does not
work, stops or does not
work properly.
You are using an
alkaline battery.
Replace the alkaline
battery with a zinc-
carbon battery.
The hands of the clock
stick together, touch
each other or touch the
frame of the clock.
Bend the clock hands
straight so that they
do not scratch each
other or the frame.
Then turn the red knob
on the movement and
rotate the minute
hand two full turns to
make sure the hands
are correct. Then set
the correct time using
the red button on the
movement.
The movement gear
wobbles in the rear
case and the clock does
not hang straight.
The nut holding the
clock and movement
has come loose during
transport.
Align the gearbox and
hold it while tightening
the nut under the clock
hands with a small pair
of needle-nose pliers
(do not over-tighten).
