Table 2 - Troubleshooting checklist
PROBLEMS

• Change battery or change chest strap
• Moisten electrodes with water
• Use Polar of compatible Polar straps
• Weak signal
• Electrodes not wet enough
• Strap not tight enough
• Too much body fat
• Chest size too small or too big
• Receiver problem
• Moisten electrodes with water
• Tighten strap
• No solution
• Adjust chest strap accordingly
• Use DIAGNOSTICS Menu to check signal (See HEART
RATE TEST at section 5.4)
• Erratic signal
• Wrong strap
• Interference from other signals
• Electrodes not wet enough
• Use Polar of compatible Polar straps
• Move machine away from potentials sources of interference
• Moisten electrodes with water
The above table should help you properly diagnose the problem. Note that the signal is not necessarily transmitted
immediately. The chest strap electrodes need to be moistened in order to send a strong signal. Interference from radios and
neon lights can also reduce the strength of the signal.
