Altitude (ALT) Switch
Used to maintain
pressure altitude at time
of selection.
Yaw Damper (YD) Switch
Used to engage and
disengage the yaw damper.
Disengaging the yaw
damper also disengages the
autopilot.
Cours 2 (CRS 2) Button
Push Direct (PUSH DCT)
Button
Used to move the course
pointer on selected PFD.
When pushed, causes
course pointer to indicate
direct course to tuned
VOR.

AP and YD Pointers
Illuminate to indicate which AP guidance
computer or yaw damper channel is active.
Arrows to the left mean FGC No 1 is
controlling. Arrows to the right mean FGC
No 2 is controlling. Computers alternate
control at each power up.
Flight Director (FD) Switch
Used to remove flight
director command bars.
– Onside button not
functional offside button
removes offside FD.
– Onside button
removes both FD offside
button removes offside FD.
AP ON
AP OFF
Autopilot (AP) Switch
Used to engage and
disengage autopilot. When
autopilot engaged, the yaw
damper is engaged simul-
taneously. Disengaging the
autopilot does not
disengage the yaw
damper.
Vertical Navigation (VNAV)
Switch
Used to select the vertical
navigation mode, tracking
vertical flight profile from
selected FMS.
Speed/Pitch Wheel
DN
UP
Used to change vertical
reference value being used
by vertical speed (VS) or
pitch (PIT) modes.
- Rotate the wheel
forward to select pitch down
and speed increase.
- Rotate the wheel
backwards to select pitch up
and speed decrease.
Vertical Speed (VS)
Switch
Used to hold a vertical
speed. When pushed, the
vertical speed reference is
synchronized to current
vertical speed, displayed
on PFD. Use speed/pitch
wheel to change vertical
value.
CPL Pointer
Illuminates to indicate
whether the pilot's or
copilot’s PFD and ADC
are coupled to the
FGC. Both pointers will
illuminate during an
ILS approach. Defaults
to the left-side PFD on
power-up.
Altitude (ALT)
Preselect Button
Used to preselect
altitude, displayed
on PFD.
Coupled (CPL) Switch
(lateral and vertical
flight guidance)
Used to couple either
pilot's or copilot's PFD
and associated ADC
data to the FGC.
