When the
Main Menus
is showing in the window, pressing the
down arrow will display the
System Menus
. This block contains
items which do not need to be regularly accessed. With
System
Menus
showing in the display press the
Ent
key.
15.
Internal Arrays Xfer:
If there is a need to check the system,
the
Internal Arrays Xfer
allows the instrument’s internal array
confi guration and various other parameters to be downloaded to a fi le.
The operator can transmit this fi le to Boreal Laser Inc. for analysis.

Sample / ref. scan:
This item selects the number of times the
sample path is measured before the reference cell is checked.
It should not be necessary to change this value from the factory
default setting
.

Swps/ref Swps/samp:
The laser drive electronics are
designed to vary the emission wavelength of the laser from just
below to just above the selected wavelength. This varying laser
wavelength effectively ‘sweeps’ across the selected line, and the
resulting readings are called ‘
sweeps
’.
A series of ‘
sweeps
’ are
averaged to form a ‘
scan
’. When the data for the ‘sample scan’,
‘reference cell scan’, and ‘associated readings’ are incorporated
into the calculations of gas concentration by the onboard computer,
the resulting value is called a ‘
sample
’. One ‘
sample
’ typically
takes just over 1 second.

Serial Checksum:
To ensure the integrity of the data when it
is sent to a data logger or the
GasViewOP
program, a checksum
string is added to the serial data. This option should be enabled in
order to achieve compatability with all versions of
GasViewOP.
20.
Serial Baud Rate:
This item allows the user to select the
baud rate at which data are transmitted from the
GasFinderFCr
instrument. Available options are: 300,1200, 2400, 4800, 9600,
19200, 38400, 57600,115200 and 230400 baud (9,600 is the
usual setting). The serial data parameters are detailed in Section 4
of this manual.
