The display always shows “TEC Failure Laser Diode Off Line“.

associated electronics, the system will protect the laser diode by shutting
the laser off and the display will read:
In this situation, the operator should contact
Boreal Laser Inc. for further information on resolving the problem.
Display shows “Cal. Err!”.
If the system has diffi culty verifying the internal calibration, the “
Cal. Err!
” display
will fl ash. In this situation, the concentration reading from the instrument may
not be valid. The display will

In some cases, especially if the system has been subjected to large variations
in temperature, the problem can be resolved by switching the unit off, waiting
a minute, and switching the unit back on.
If the display still shows Cal. Err!, collect an Arrays Transfer File (page 7.4) and
send it to Boreal Laser together with 30min of data from the .gvl text fi le. This
will allow Boreal Laser to diagnose the problem.
Periodically, strings containing diagnostic data ($GFDBG) are sent from the
GasFinderFCr
. These can be seen in the ViewData window of
GasViewOP
.
If the
centreline duty cycle
is below 300 or above 800 it would be advisable
to contact Boreal laser for further instructions.

Display reads “Unlocked No reading”.
If the signal being analysed by the onboard electronics falls below a certain
set value, and the returning light level is within the acceptable bounds,
problems may exist with the internal receiver electronics.
In this case, the system will display:
