Installing or removing jig saw blade
CAUTION: Always clean out all chips or foreign matter adhering to the jig saw blade
and/or blade holder. Failure to do so may cause insufficient tightening of the blade,
resulting in a serious personal injury.
CAUTION: Do not touch the jig saw blade or the workpiece immediately after oper-
ation. They may be extremely hot and could burn your skin.
CAUTION: Always secure the jig saw blade firmly. Insufficient tightening of the blade
may cause blade breakage or serious personal injury.
CAUTION: Use only Bormann jig saw blades specified in this manual. Using any other
blades causes insufficient tightening of the blade, resulting in a serious personal
injury.
1. Jig saw blade
2. Blade clamp sleeve
To install the jig saw blade, rotate the blade clamp sleeve in the direction of the arrow (anticlockwise) fully, then insert the jig saw blade into the blade clamp
sleeve as far as it will go, make sure that the back edge of the blade fits into the roller. Release the blade clamp sleeve, the blade clamp sleeve rotates and au-
tomatically fixes the jig saw blade. Make sure that the jig saw blade cannot be extracted even though you try to pull It out.
CAUTION: If you do not insert the jig saw blade deep enough, the jig saw blade may be ejected unexpectedly during operation. This can be extremely danger-
ous.
To remove the jig saw blade, rotate the blade clamp sleeve in the same direction of the arrow (anticlockwise) fully. The jig saw blade could be removed and the
blade clamp sleeve automatically fixed at the released position.
CAUTION: Keep hands and fingers away from the blade during the switching operation. Failure to do so may cause personal injuries.
NOTE: If you remove the jig saw blade without rotating the blade clamp sleeve fully, the sleeve may not be fixed. In this case, rotate the blade clamp sleeve fully,
then make the sleeve fixed at the released position.
Hex wrench storage
When not in use, store the hex wrench in the socket on the side of the jig saw to keep it from being lost. Insert the hex wrench into the hole directly.
Operation
CAUTION: Always hold the base flush with the workpiece. Failure to do so may cause jig saw blade breakage, resulting in a serious injury.
CAUTION: Advance the tool very slowly when cutting curves or scrolling. Forcing the tool may cause a slanted cutting surface and jig saw blade breakage.
CAUTION: Always Use the correct type of saw blade. Wood cutting blade for wood cutting and plastic cutting, Steel cutting blade for ferrous materials or metal
cutting.
Turn the tool on without the jig saw blade making any contact and wait until the blade attains full speed. Then rest the base flat on the workpiece and gently
move the tool forward along the previously marked cutting line.
Always mark a curve cutting line onto the work piece before curve cutting.
