Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
If the balancer or spring pull should fail despite the care taken
in manufacture and testing, repair should be carried out by an
authorized customer services agent for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts orders, please always
include the 10-digit number given on the nameplate of the
balancer or spring pull.
Balancers
f
Disconnect the air supply before carrying out mainte-
nance, making any load-capacity adjustments, or con-
necting or removing the air tool.
This safety measure
prevents accidental starting of the air tool.
f
Check the suspension quick-link and the securing hook
daily for corrosion and damage. Have the balancer, es-
pecially the compressed-air hose, checked at least
once every year through an expert according to the re-
spectively appropriate country-specific regulations.
In
case of damage, the balancer may not continue to be used.
Apply grease to all exterior moving parts, such as the friction
points of the suspension quick-link
2
and the securing eye
4
.
Clean the sieve at the air intake of the balancer regularly. For
this, unscrew the hose fitting
14
and remove any dust and de-
bris from the sieve. Afterwards, retighten the hose fitting again.
To avoid damage to interior valve components of the balancer
when screwing hose fitting
14
in or out, it is recommended to
counter-hold the projecting connection socket of air intake
7
with an open-end wrench (size 17 mm).
Observe the recommendations for admixtures to
the compressed air, as specified in the operating
instructions of the air tool used on the balancer!
Spring Pulls
f
Check the rope, the suspension quick-link and the se-
curing hook (where available) daily for corrosion and
damage. Have the spring pull, especially the rope,
checked at least once every year through an expert ac-
cording to ISO 4309.
In case of damage, the spring pull
may not continue to be used.
Apply grease to all exterior moving parts, such as the friction
points of the suspension quick-link
2
and the securing eye
4
.
Maintaining the cable with an acid-free grease (petroleum
jelly) increases its service life.
