6.4 Connecting the ErgoSpin
connecting cable
The connection between the CS351/CC-CS351
compact system and the ErgoSpin/CC-ErgoSpin
hand-held nutrunner is established by means of
one or up to 5 side-by-side connecting cables.
The same applies to the connection between the
servo amplifier of the modular system and the
ErgoSpin/CC-ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunner.
CAUTION
Danger of injury due to high voltage and loss
of functional and system reliability!
The residual-current-operated protective device
may trigger if the cables between the ErgoSpin
and the CS351 compact system or the CC-
ErgoSpin and a CS351 or CC-CS351 compact
system is too long. Danger to the functional and
system reliability of the tightening system!
In connection with the compact system, use
cables with a maximum length of 50
meters.
Note
:
The length of the connecting cable
for certain components may be limited. You
must therefore observe the length
specification if stickers with limitations are
attached to the components.
In connection with the servo amplifiers in
the modular system, use cables with a
maximum length of 100 meters.
As extension, do not connect more than 5
connecting cables in line.
Lay the cables in a way that no one will trip
over them.
Observe the minimum bending radius for
connecting cables for ErgoSpin hand-held
nutrunners:
-
Once 3 x cable
Ø
-
Repeated 7.5 x cable
Ø
-
Optimum 10 x cable Ø
-
Cable-Ø: 12.5 mm
±
0.3 mm

ErgoSpin/CC-ErgoSpin
Proceed as follows when connecting a con-
necting cable for the hand-held nutrunner:
1.
Insert the connecting cable plug on the servo
amplifier side into the interface at the
Rexroth tightening system, establishing a
flush connection (see fig. C).
Screw in the union nut of the angle plug, do,
however, not tighten it completely, yet.
2.
Adjust the cable outlet on the angle plug,
e.g. in order to adapt it to your use.
NOTICE
Overvoltage!
Damage to electronic components!
Do not push the start switch while
plugging.
Fit appropriate strain relief devices to
prevent kinks in the cable.
NOTICE
Damage!
Overtwisting the angle plug may result in
damages.
While doing so, observe the angle of turn
of the angle plug (see fig. D).
3.
Firmly screw the plug of the connecting
cable to the Rexroth tightening system
(approx. 1 turn).
The angle plug has only been as-
sembled correctly if its set angle
position can no longer be changed
when the union nut has been
tightened.
