6.6
Overview of manual mode
6.6.1
Recovery
In the recovery phase, the duration for the pressure
increase test is calculated automatically.
6.6.2
Vacuum creation phase
In the vacuum creation phase, the parameters that have
to be set are the vacuum creation time and the vacuum
test time.
i
Ensure that you perform recovery before the vacuum
creation phase.
i
The vacuum pressure normally attained on a vehicle
A/C system is less than 200 mbar.
i
See table 1 under chapter 6.7 for the default values
of vacuum creation time and vacuum test time.
6.6.3
Oil recharge phase
In the oil recharge phase, the quantity of fresh oil and
R134a that has to be recharged can be set.
i
Oil injection can only be carried out on an A/C sys-
tem that is under vacuum. The vacuum phase must,
therefore, be performed before oil injection.
i
If you select oil and/or UV dye recharge, it is not pos-
sible to select the option "LP only".
i
Check the oil quantity calculation - delta or absolute
- before proceeding with the service. Selecting the
wrong oil quantity calculation might damage the ve-
hicle compressor. To change the oil quantity calcula-
tion, refer to chapter 4.8.1.
i
Oil injection and UV dye recharge cannot be per-
formed without filling the refrigerant. Every time, oil
or UV dye is recharged, R134a is also recharged.
i
See table 1 under chapter 6.7 for the default quan-
tity of R134a and fresh oil that can be recharged.
i
Before filling the fresh oil and R134a into the vehicle
A/C system, check whether the end of the intake hose
reaches right to the bottom of the fresh oil reservoir.
!
The quantity of oil added to the vehicle A/C sys-
tem corresponds to the quantity drawn during the
recovery phase. When filling a vehicle A/C system for
the first time, refer to the vehicle documentation or
the vehicle-specific repair manual for the specified
recharge quantity.
!
Use only the fresh oil specified by the vehicle manufac-
turer.
!
Use only new oil to replace the amount removed
during the recovery process. Used oil should be
discarded as per applicable federal, state and local
requirements.
6.6.4
UV dye recharge phase
In the UV dye recharge phase, the quantity of UV dye
and R134a that has to be recharged can be set
.
i
UV dye injection can only be carried out on an A/C
system that is under vacuum. The vacuum phase
must, therefore, be performed before UV contrast
medium injection.
i
Oil injection and UV dye recharge cannot be per-
formed without filling the refrigerant. Every time, oil
or UV dye is recharged, R134a is also recharged.
i
See table 1 under chapter 6.7 for the default quan-
tity of UV dye that can be recharged.
!
Before each UV dye recharge, it is essential to check
whether a leak test using UV dye is approved by the
vehicle manufacturer for the vehicle A/C system.
!
Use UV dye specified by Bosch (order number
1 689 916 000).
6.6.5
Recharge phase
In the recharge phase, the quantity of refrigerant that
has to be topped up can be set.
