The built‑in recorder is used to record discussions in the MP3 format. Recordings are saved to
the internal memory or an appropriate USB memory stick, when connected. Refer to the
information on USB memory stick in Additional components, page 13.
During recording, the full capacity of the USB memory stick may not be used because:
–
Multi‑device USB memory sticks are supported, but only one internal memory device on
the USB memory stick is used.
–
USB devices with multiple partitions are supported, but only the first partition is used.
The memory size of the USB stick and recording settings determine the total recording time.
The internal memory can save up to 8 hours of discussion at the lowest bit rate. For an
overview of the possible recording times compared to the bit rate, see Technical data, page
62.
The appropriate memory (internal/USB) and LED indicator are automatically selected and
deselected when the USB memory stick is inserted and removed from the USB connector at
the front of the Control Unit.
Recording options
When recording is started, the MP3 recorder automatically creates an MP3 file, using the
current date and time as the file name.
Recordings saved on the USB memory stick have the filename: 'USB:yyyymmdd-hhmmss-
Floor.mp3'.
–
If the recording setting source is set to Floor and output x (x = 3, 4, 5 or 6), a second
recording file is stored with the same date-time stamp: 'USB:yyyymmdd-hhmmss-
Outputx.mp3 '.
–
If the recording is made on the internal memory, the file name starts with 'IM' instead of
'USB'.
By default, recorded files have a maximum duration of 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, the file is
automatically closed, and a new file is created. This process is repeated as long as recording is
active or until the internal memory or USB stick is full.
If you want discussion to be recorded to one continuous file, a ‘no-file-split’, should be
created in the internal flash of the Control Unit. To do this:
1.
Connect a laptop or PC to the Control Unit, by using the micro USB connector at the rear
of the Control Unit..
2.
Under the detected drive for the Control Unit, create a txt file called ‘no-file-split’.
3.
Remove the file extension “.txt.”
