Direct current braking
The frequency inverter generates a direct current in the motor windings in
order to prevent uncontrolled deceleration and to build up a holding torque at
zero speed
.
CAUTION
Frequent direct current braking may overheat the motor.
The electronic bimetal function (P43 – P45) protects the motor.
