Firmware Update
New drives are always equipped with the most current firmware release. A
firmware update is not necessary in this case.
For existing plants, a firmware update may be necessary in special cases.
Your Bosch Service team will be pleased to advise you.

The drive’s FEPROM will be cleared in the course of a firmware update!
Therefore, you should make sure that a back-up of all relevant data of
the drive has been made (cf. section 4.6) before carrying out a firmware
update!

In order to perform a firmware update, please proceed step by step accord-
ing to the following description.
7.1
Ensuring prerequisites

Link the drive in question to the PC and establish communication between
the drive and the DSS. Please note the information provided in section 4.1.

Make sure that a data medium containing the new firmware is available. The
label will contain the release number and date of the firmware.

Make a safety backup of the original data. In the course of the update
process, you should only use this backup copy!

You may copy the original data to the DSS directory
”
c:\Bosch\DSS\Firmware\
” for backup purposes. If this directory
already contains data, these may be replaced.
The system should now be in the following condition:

24 supply is switched on. The power has not been connected, the system
has not been enabled.

The display on the module shows ”H”.
D
The PC screen shows the DSS basic image.
