Intended use
2.1.1
Introduction
In their design and manufacture, Rexroth products reflect state-of-the-art
technology. The products are tested prior to delivery to ensure operational
safety and reliability.
The products must only be used as intended. Failure to use them in the inten‐
ded way may cause situations resulting in property damage and personal in‐
jury.
Regarding damages caused by inappropriate use of the product,
Bosch Rexroth, as the manufacturer, does not provide any war‐
ranty, assume any liability or pay any damages. Any risks result‐
ing from the products not being used as intended are the sole re‐
sponsibility of the user.
Before using Bosch Rexroth products, the following prerequisites have to be
fulfilled to ensure that they are used as intended:

Personnel that in any way, shape or form uses our products must first
read and understand the relevant safety instructions and be familiar with
their intended use.
●
Hardware products must be left in their original condition, i.e. no struc‐
tural changes may be made. Software products must not be decompiled
and their source code must not be changed.
●
Damaged or defective products must not be installed or put into opera‐
tion.
●
It must be ensured that products are installed in compliance with all reg‐
ulations specified in the documentation.

Areas of use and application
BA1N energy storage devices are designed to be used as kinetic energy stor‐
age devices. The following are typical fields of application:

Mains power peak reduction
●
Possible reduction of connection power
●
Absorption of the braking energy at unregulated supply units
●
Bridging in case of brief mains failures
Controlling and monitoring the energy storage device may require additional
sensors and actuators.
BA1N energy storage devices may only be used with the acces‐
sories specified in this documentation. Components that are not
expressly mentioned may neither be attached nor connected. The
same applies for cables and lines.
Operation is only allowed in the specified configurations and com‐
binations of the components using the software and firmware as
specified in the relevant functional descriptions.
Before commissioning, every connected drive controller must be program‐
med to ensure that the energy storage device executes the functions specific
to the application.
