Coolant connection
Liquid-cooled BA1N energy storage devices must be connected to an exter‐
nal cooling system via the connection threads on the housing.
To supply BA1N energy storage devices with coolant, other instal‐
lation materials are also required, for example, tubes and mount‐
ing clamps (these are not included in the scope of delivery).

The connection threads at the housing are covered with factory-provided pro‐
tective plugs. These protective caps must only be removed immediately be‐
fore screwing in the coolant lines or the quick coupling in order to prevent dirt
from entering the cooling system.
The assignment of the inlet (IN) and outlet (OUT) can be made at
will and does not affect the power data of the energy storage de‐
vice.
The following table gives an overview of the maximum permissible load on
the connection threads.

The coolant port threads on the housing may
be destroyed by incorrect tightening torques!
NOTICE
The allowed tightening torque of the housing connections may not be excee‐
ded! Exceedance of the tightening torque or screw-in depth may lead to irre‐
versible damage.
The cooling connections on the housing side are provided for coolant con‐
nection threads with axial sealing.
Bosch Rexroth recommends to use threaded connections which contain an
O-ring for axial sealing of the screw connections.
For example, seals consisting of hemp, teflon tape or cone-shaped screw
connections are not considered to be suitable, since this type of seal may
