The CDI cable is sensitive to mechanical load where the jacket was
removed. Ensure that the CDI cable shielding is not damaged when
removing the cable jacket.

2. Remove the foil shield.
CDI cables are equipped with an additional foil shield. The foil shield
must not be used for the connection with the shielding clamp. The
foil shield is usually plastic-coated on one side for an improved sta-
bility. The plastic coating is insulating.
