Damage to persons or property by disconnect-
ing or connecting energized connectors!
WARNING
●
Connect and disconnect connectors only when they are dry and de-energized.
●
During operation of the system, all connectors must be securely tightened.
Grounding
The motors must be grounded via a motor cable and via a second separate
ground conductor with minimum 4 mm² cross section. Check that the position
of the grounded conductor is fixed before commissioning.
If the grounding connector in the motor cable and the second separate ground-
ing conductor on the motor housing are not connected or are interrupted due to
corrosion or other defects during their lifetime, the discharge current flows (as
leakage current) over conducting housing parts. This has to be prevented with
the above-mentioned measures.
Corrosion
Corrosion of the motor housing by aggressive materials (such as certain cool-
ants, lubricants, cutting oils or salt mists) must be prevented.
Emergency stop
Energies stored in the intermediate circuit have to be reduced or insulated as
soon as possible through the activation of the emergency stop device, so that in
the case of a failure the risk of an effect into the danger zone is reduced.
The following options exist for activating the emergency shutdown system:
●
Reduce the energy via an intermediate short circuit.
●
Isolation of the energies before they are transferred into the potentially explo-
sive atmosphere by isolating the voltage of the lines and motors present in
the potentially explosive atmosphere.
Fan
Operation of MSK motors according to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU is only per-
mitted without fan.
Other environmental factors
Observe the application notes in the project planning manual “DOK-MOTOR*-
MSK*EXGIIK3-PR
⃞⃞
-
⃞⃞
-P” regarding risks due to outer influences, such as:
●
Operation only within the specified ambient conditions
●
Maximum vibration and impact loads
●
Protection of protective conductor connections against dirt, corrosion, mois-
ture and/or aggressive materials, etc.
