Commissioning of optional safety technology
General
Before initial commissioning of the self-contained servo-hydraulic linear axis
the machine manufacturer has to check and confirm the factory-set preset‐
tings of the integrated “Safe Motion” safety technology.
Before a machine may be placed on the market, the manufacturer of the ma‐
chine has to conduct a risk assessment in accordance with the Machinery Di‐
rective 2006/42/EC in order to determine the hazards related to the operation
of the machine.
The risk assessment represents a multiple-level and iterative process. The
procedure is described in more detail in ISO 12100 - "General principles for
design - Risk assessment und risk reduction".
Requirements
The following components are required for commissioning:

Completely connected, supplied and commissioned self-contained ser‐
vo-hydraulic linear axis with the function "Safe Stop 0" (safety block).
●
Drive controller with optional “Safe Motion“ S4 card
●
Linear encoder system with analog signal generation mounted on the
piston side. The demands made on the linear system are described in
the application manual “Rexroth IndraDrive Integrated Safety Technolo‐
gy "Safe Motion" (as of MPx-18), see
chapter 1.2 "Required and sup‐
plementary documentation" on page 5

●
PC with free Ethernet port
●
IndraWorks Ds 14V16 or higher
●
Control module for inductive loads “HAT02”
If a complete parameter backup was made before the drive con‐
troller was replaced, it can be read in to speed up the restoration
of the configuration. After having read the parameter backup, al‐
ways check the settings. For further information on reading pa‐
rameter backups, please refer to the application manual of
MPx-20, see
