The Tightening System 350
The bolted connection is one of the most important types of connections used in assembly technology.
That is why state-of-the-art and reliable tightening systems are indispensable. Different tightening
processes allow to reduce the bolt dimensions and, thus, save material and decrease weight.
Furthermore, automated tightening processes provide for constant quality of the bolted connection. This
is of decisive important for constantly changing requirements for material and resilience. In extreme cases,
a loose bolt can be a danger to life and limb.
The powerful Tightening System 350 from Rexroth implements all important tightening and monitoring
functions, e. g. torque, angle of turn, yield point, and tightening monitoring and helps to safely control the
bolted connection. It allows multi-step and interlinked tightening processes that allow to easily adjust the
tightening process.
The clear and flexible modular design of the Tightening System 350 guarantees easy and user-friendly
module installation and an exact adjustment of the tightening system to the task at hand. This modular
design also ensures that the system can be expanded simply and quickly to fit changing demands and
information.
The standard components have been tested at onemillion load cycles to guarantee a high level of
dependability and system reliability.
The electrical, electronic, and programmable system components of the
Tightening System 350
do not
contain
any safety components
within the meaning of the machinery directive
2006/42/EC
. Thus, these
components are
not
covered by the standard
EN ISO 13849
"Safety-related control parts".
The modular tightening spindle is connected to the power electronics by just one connecting cable and
is equipped with torque and angle of turn sensors to constantly monitor the tightening.
Tightening systems with up to 40 tightening channels can be controlled by means of one communication
unit. The tightening system can be externally connected via various interface modules that can be installed
as needed. The Tightening System 350 supports field buses such as PROFIBUS and DeviceNet, as well
as Ethernet-based field buses such as EtherNet/IP, ModbusTCP, and PROFINET. Tightening systems
with integrated, freely programmable logic in accordance with IEC 61131-3 provide the user with
countless automation options for the entire tightening process
The Tightening System 350 can be easily integrated in an entire system: Card rack fields are designed
for use in control cabinets, and system boxes with card rack fields are available for operation without a
control cabinet.
The operating software for the Tightening System 350 guarantees clear and convenient programming of
all tightening processes and provides numerous diagnosis and test functions .
