Fig. 46:
Checking and replacing the seal ring
If necessary, replace the seal ring if it is damaged or porous.
Clean bottom part and retaining surface.
Insert the seal ring again so that it fits perfectly.
Clean the basket and insert the filter element.
Insert the new filter element with basket into the bottom part.
Screw the cover with clogging indicator on again.
Tighten the cover again using the open-end wrench size 36.
Replenish the hydraulic fluid, if required, and/or re-fill it completely (see
chapter 9.3).
Set up the circulation operation (see chapter 9.5.7).
Switch the hydraulic power unit on.
Operate the unit with circulation operation for some minutes in order to check
the proper assembly of the return flow filter and to fill the filter.
Carry out a visual inspection for leak-tightness at the return flow filter.
Observe the clogging indicator:
If the return flow filter is tight and the oil level ok, the filter exchange is
completed, the hydraulic power unit is ready for operation again.
If the return flow filter is leaky and/or the oil level is low, continue as follows:
Switch the hydraulic power unit off again and pull the mains plug.
The hydraulic system is depressurized.
Take off the cover and check the seal ring.
Re-mount the cover properly.
