FIG. 3
Use only the air tool lubricants supplied
with the tool or specified by BOSCH.
Do
not use other lubricants as they may damage the tool.
Do not use detergent oil, WD-40, transmission fluid, motor
oil, or other lubricants not specifically designated as air tool
lubricants. These lubricants will cause accelerated wear to
the seals, o-rings, and bumpers in the tool, resulting in poor
tool performance and frequent maintenance.
BOSCH recommended lubricants: 10W Pneumatic Tool Oil,
Fuchs Air Lube 10W/NR.
Staple Loading
Always load staples into the tool's
magazine before the air supply is
connected.
Connecting the air supply after loading staples
reduces the risk of unintentionally driving a staple and
injuring yourself or someone else.
When loading the tools magazine, check
that the staples slide smoothly against
the top surface of the magazine.
If the staples are not
loaded properly, the tool will misfire and nails can be
deflected, causing the tool to react in an unexpected
manner, and damage the tool.
1. Disconnect air supply.
2. Pull follower back and confirm that follower lock is
securely lodged in the follower hole on the follower,
figure 3.
3. See tool specifications to determine appropriate staple
sizes. Insert staples by pushing the staple strip over the
top of the magazine until the crown of the staples contacts
the top surface of the magazine. Make sure that the
staple strip slides freely on the magazine, figure 4.
4. Pull the follower backward slightly, press in the follower
lock, and push the follower forward. Gently set the
follower against the back of the loaded staples, figure 5.
Do not allow the follower to freely recoil.
Guide the follower by hand until it
reaches its full forward position.
Free recoil of the
follower could result in damage to the follower and/or
magazine or your fingers could become pinched.
Use only the staples meeting the criteria
listed in the “Specification” section of this
manual.
Staples not identified for use with this tool can
cause the tool to malfunction and result in the risk of injury
and/or tool damage.
Watch for pinch points when closing the
follower. Never place any part of your
body in a pinch point area.
When loading staples consider
where your hand is located. If it is within a pinch point,
strongly consider an alternative position. Injuries occur when
hands or fingers are between moving and stationary parts
during the pinching movement.
