4.  Service and Maintenance

To properly maintain this product, the following checkups or operations must be performed:

Monthly:

• 

Inspection of welds, in particular the welds on the lifting device.

• 

Check if pipe brackets are attached properly or show any fractures. 

• 

Also look for any wear of the pipes near brackets and ensure that the location of the pipes  

is such that they are not obstructed. 

• 

Check the tubes thoroughly for deformation, damage and corrosion.

•  

Check the hydraulic system for leaks

•  

Check the oil level of the worm gear unit. This should be maintained at this level at all

times. When necessary, fill it up with BouMatic hydraulic oil. Before filling the oil tank for  

contamination and remove them.

•  

Grease the chains (track and drive) with multipurpose grease.

•  

Grease the pivot point of the hydraulic cylinders and grease the cylinder rods.

Cylinders must be inspected for leakage along the gasket(s) near the shaft. If necessary, gaskets should be re-

placed preventively. Also look for damage to the shaft (scratches and wear). 
Also inspect the attachment of the cylinder, in particular check for damaged hinge loops and ball heads.
Check the connection between the tubes and the cylinder, paying particular attention to wear and to whether the 

connections are without tension.

 Yearly:

•  

Change the oil of the worm gear unit. Refill with BouMatic hydraulic oil. 

After six years:

• 

Rubber and plastic tubes should be replaced by similar tubes (recommendation no. 1/74 of  

the Association of Industrial Accident Insurers; in accordance with DIN-20066).

Unassembled tubes in stock may be used for four years after the date of manufacture, assembled tubes for only 

two years. Use of the wrong tubes or tubes that are too old may result in life-threatening situations and substantial 

environmental and mechanical damage.
