New Machine Brake-in Maintenance Procedures
Do the following after the first 20 operating hours for a new machine only.
1. Change engine oil - Refer to the engine manual for the proper engine oil changing
instructions..

Change engine oil filter, which is located on the left side of the engine - Refer to the engine
manual for the proper engine oil filter changing instructions and (Item 1,
Figure 4–14
).

Change the hydraulic filter. See Service Manual and
Figure 4–15
.
•
The hydraulic filter will be filled with hydraulic fluid. Make sure to dispose of
the used hydraulic filter in an appropriate manner and according to State and
Local regulations.

Place a container under the hydraulic filter assembly to capture any hydraulic
fluid that may drain out.

Remove the spin-on hydraulic filter (Item 1,
Figure 4–15
) from the filter mount that is
located underneath the hydraulic cooler.
•
To access the filter assembly, reach in through the access opening under the fuel tank.
•
Make sure to allow the engine and hydraulic system to cool off before beginning this
procedure.
