Connect tether cable to ROV
Place your ROV near the tether cable. Take care when lifting the ROV: use the
carbon fibre frame tubes or stainless-steel bars. Take care not to touch or
scratch the domes as this could affect video quality later.
Unwind the tether reel slightly so that the tether penetrator is close to the back
end of the ROV.
Next, practice the below steps so you can perform them quickly and confidently
in the field.
On the tether port at point
(7)
on
the rear of the ROV, unscrew the
collar and pull out the plug. It is
held in place with two o-rings so
you will need to pull past these.
On the tether penetrator,
unscrew the black collar from
the black plastic tether
penetrator cap (picture on right
shows collar unscrewed from
cap)
Take off the tether penetrator
cap so that the tether
penetrator is exposed. You will
see the fibre optic end of the
tether cable is visible, protected
by a clear plastic cap.
Remove the clear plastic cap
from the end of the fibre optic
cable.
