Test LED illumination lights
Set lighting arm configuration
1.
Slightly unscrew the ballast chamber caps on the ends of the ROV frame
tubes
(5)
so that the lighting arms
(10)
are free to move.
2.
Rotate the arms and light panels as desired. In general, keep the lighting
arms out for reduced backscatter, and in closer for close-up work and
tight spaces. Note that you should keep the lights from pointing into the
dome – point the lights into a V around the dome.
3.
When happy with the configuration, tighten the ballast chamber caps to
maintain position of the lights.
Check lights are working
To test the lights are working, turn on the lighting switch
(12)
on the Control
Station.
Note
: To prevent damage to the LED modules, the lights will only
operate at 5% out of the water.
Test thrusters
After you’ve visually inspected the thrusters
(6)
for damage or foreign material
you can perform a thruster test.
Press and hold the
OK (
√
)
button
(25)
for six seconds. You will hear the ROV
beep several times as a warning to keep away from the thrusters.
WARNING!
DO NOT look directly into the LED illumination lights.
WARNING!
DO NOT touch the thrusters or serious injury may occur. Keep
fingers, long hair and loose clothing or anything that may become
entangled well clear of the thrusters when operating.
