Towing
WARNING
It is the responsibility of the driver to make sure the log splitter is properly
attached to a vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch ball. Failure to properly attach
the log splitter can cause loss of control of the vehicle or the log splitter
becoming separated from the towing vehicle, resulting in serious injury or
death.
Maximum Towing Speed Limit — 35 mph. (56 kph). Your log splitter is built on a
solid, unsuspended axle. To prevent damage or possible loss of vehicle control,
use extreme caution when towing and do not exceed a vehicle speed of 35 mph
(56 kph), especially when driving on a bumpy road.
NOTE:
Always check the log splitter tire
pressure before towing. Refer to the tire
manufacturer’s specifications.
1
.
The hitch on your EZ Split 15 log splitter
must
be used with a 2 inch diameter hitch
ball installed on the tow vehicle. Position
the log splitter tongue near the hitch ball
and pull coupler (4) latch assembly
UPWARD to the OPEN position.
2
.
Lift the tongue, remove lock pin (A), and
fold front leg (B) to the tow position.
Insert the lock pin.
3
.
Position the hitch on the tow ball of your
vehicle and push DOWN on coupler (4)
latch. Pull UP on the tongue arm to make
sure the hitch is secure. Insert a
customer supplied lock pin (not shown)
into the latch assembly. Attach towing
safety chains (7) to the tow vehicle.
Important Notice
Do not back up with the log splitter
attached. The short tongue length can
cause it to jackknife quickly, resulting in
damage to the log splitter and/or tow
vehicle.
