Select menu item
Press the MENU button, then press the UP or DOWN button to select the desired menu item.
SENS:
Adjust sensitivity
Press + or - to increase or decrease the sensitivity level.
DISC (Discrimination):
Filter out the detection of unwanted metals by metal discrimination (motion
mode).
Press - to eliminate the unwanted target object. To restore the deleted item, press +.
NOTCH:
You can ignore different metals by type, using this mode (motion mode).
Press + or - to select the desired metal type (e.g., S-CAPS) to be eliminated. Press DOWN to elimin-
ate. To restore the eliminated object, press UP.
ALL METAL:
Search for metals of any kind.
This is a "non-motion mode" and the detector produces a medium beep tone for any type of metal.
GND BAL (Ground Balance):
(non-motion mode)
Press + or - to increase or decrease the ground balance level. There are a hundred levels available
(0-100). The set value is displayed on the display.
VOLUME:
Adjust volume
Press + or - to increase or decrease the volume.
LIGHT:
Adjust the brightness of the LCD display
Press + or - to increase or decrease the brightness. There are 10 levels (0-9) available. Since the
background light consumes more power, we recommend setting the value to 0 in normal environment.
13 Operation
Motion mode and Non-motion mode
Motion mode: "DISC" and "NOTCH"
In these modes, you have to move the search coil to find target(s). The detector sounds three different
beep tones for different types of metal detected. You can exclude unwanted objects from detection in
DISC or NOTCH mode.
Non-motion mode: "ALL METAL" and "GND BAL".
In these modes, the detector sounds a mid beep tone when the metal target is beneath the coil,
without moving it. You can adjust the value of GND BAL (ground balance) to eliminate the interference
from mineral soil.
