the slicing and grating accessory
what it’s for
The slicing and grating accessory can be used to slice or grate a variety of ingredients such as
cabbage, carrots, onions, cucumber, etc. It is not suitable for grating cheese or for slicing lemons,
tomatoes or fruits containing stones.
fitting
The slicing and grating blades are very sharp! Take care when handling or cleaning
them.
Lower the processor bowl over the drive shaft, ensuring the symbol on the bowl is aligned
with the symbol on the motor base.
Rotate the processor bowl until the symbol on the bowl is aligned with the symbol on the
motor base.
Fit the slicing or grating disk onto the spindle and press the disk downwards as far as it will
go. Whichever side of the slicing or grating blade is facing up will be the side that is used.
Slide the slicing/grating assembly over the drive shaft in the processor bowl.
Fit the lid onto the processor bowl ensuring the symbol on the lid is aligned with the
symbol on the bowl.
Rotate the lid until the symbol on the bowl lid is aligned with the symbol on the top rim
of the processor bowl. Place a container beneath the slicing/grating lid outlet to catch the
sliced/grated food.
Insert the food pusher into the feed tube.
using
For the processor to operate, the processor bowl and lid must be correctly fitted.
Place the ingredients into the feed tube. Press the ON switch. Use the pusher to exert an even
pressure onto the food as it is processed by the blade. For slicing, stack the food upright into the
feed tube. When grating, position the food sideways.
Always use the food pusher to push food down the feed tube. Never use your
fingers or any other kind of implement.
Don’t operate your food processor for more than 1 minute without resting it for 30
seconds to allow the motor to cool down.
cleaning
It’s best to clean your processor as soon as you have finished using it. Empty the contents of the
processor bowl and remove the slicing/grating accessory.
Wash the processor bowl and lid with warm water and washing up liquid.
Rinse under clean running water.
Remove the slicing or grating disk from the spindle by pushing it upwards.
Carefully
wash the
disk in warm, soapy water. Dry the processor bowl, lid, slicing/grating disk and spindle with a
soft cloth.
