tical appliance for removing

8. How to aerate correctly
Mounting the splash guard
The splash guard must be
mounted when using the aerator
cylinder, as there is otherwise
a risk of injury.
Rotate the locking buttons (Fig 3,
Pos. 8) on the cover in such
a way that the groove is free.
Push the splash guard (Fig. 3,
Pos. 10) over the cover from the
rear and secure the splash guard
in position using the right and
left locking buttons (Fig. 3a).

Caution! Only start the
appliance after it has been
fully assembled!
Before use, always carry out
a visual inspection in order to
determine whether the working
tool is worn or damaged and
whether any screws are loose.
Only work in daylight or with
good artificial lighting. If pos-
sible, avoid using the appliance
when the grass is wet. Always
ensure that the appliance is well
and securely positioned when
on inclines.
Only use the appliance at
a walking pace. Take special
care when turning the appliance
around or pulling it closer to you.
Stop the cutting tool if it should
be necessary to tilt the appliance
or if it is transported across
surfaces other than grass, and
when moving the appliance
from and to the surfaces which
are to be worked on.
Never use the appliance if the
protective devices are not
mounted or if they are damaged.

Caution! The safety devices
installed on the appliance
by the manufacturer are neither
to be removed nor bypassed as
this can result in injury.
Keep your hands and feet away
from the interior housing and
discharge when the motor is run-
ning.
Always wear sturdy footwear
and long trousers when working
with the appliance. Do not use it
when barefooted or only wear-
ing light sandals.

protection or protective
goggles when working!
Attaching the extension cable
First of all, insert the connector
of the extension cable in the
socket (Fig. 1, Pos. 4) and then
suspend it in the cable strain
(Fig. 1, Pos. 3) in such a way
that the extension cable leading
to the socket sags slightly
(Fig. 4).
The cable lock prevents the
plug-in connection from becom-
ing accidentally unplugged.
Always unroll the spare cable
completely and coil the cable
loosely on the ground.
Push the extension cable plug
into the appropriate socket.
The mains socket must be fused
at a minimum of 16 A.
The extension cable is to be so
guided that when aerating, it is
always on the side which has
already been aerated.

Warning! Do not feed the
extension cable around
or underneath doors or through
open windows! Always hold
the plug and/or the coupling
housing when unplugging the
extension cable from the
socket. Do not pull on the cable.
