Junction Box Power Connection Kit
INSTALLATION
1.
After the seal fitting is open, put the
junction box cap, strain relief disk,
grommet, and body onto the power
connection end of heating cable.
2.
Carefully, lightly score/cut outer jacket of
heating cable 4.5” (119mm), being careful
not to cut braid or inner jacket.
3.
Bend heating cable to break jacket where
sliced and peel off outer jacket.
4.
Using a screwdriver, carefully make a little
hole in the braiding, as shown.
5.
Bend the cable and work it through the
braiding.
6.
Place braid to one side of cable. Carefully
strip inner jacket of heating cable back
3.5” (90mm).
7.
Carefully strip core material from
conductors with utility knife.
CAUTION :
Do not cut bus wires!
8.
Carefully peel back exposed wires from
core material.
CAUTION :
Do not cut bus wire strands!
9.
Cut off remaining center core material;
leave the bare conductors.

Do not cut bus wires!

10. Install black shrink tubes 3” (77mm) up to
conductive core.
11. Carefully shrink heat-shrink tubing by
moving heat source from side to side
continuously; being careful not to damage
heating cable.
12. Insert green/yellow heat-shrink tubing
over braid and shrink.
13. Center black heat-shrink tube 1” (25mm)
over the end of heating cable as shown.
14. While tube is still hot pinch the tube with
pliers, between wires, and hold for 10
seconds to ensure seal.
15. For heating cables with an outer jacket,
slide parts in place as shown below.
16. Input power wire connection: Strip outer
jacket of input power wire 3.9”(100mm)
and strip conductor wires 0.5”(12mm).
