Replacing the Zip FL3001 Filter Cartridge

Examine all dismantled parts carefully. Defective parts must be replaced and any soiled parts cleaned carefully.

Turn the shut-off valve (4) on the filter head (2) to “OFF” and close the water supply.

Draw approximately one litre of water from the appliance to de-pressurise the system.

Switch off the power supply to the appliance.

Check that the locking device (3) is engaged into the pressure housing cap then turn the pressure housing 90º in an anti-clockwise
direction and withdraw it from the filter head (2) making sure a cloth is available to soak up any spillage.

Slide  down  the  locking  device  (3)  and  screw  off  the  cover  (5)  from  the  housing  (6)  in  an  anti-clockwise  direction,  opening  the
pressure housing.

Remove the spent filter cartridge (8) from the pressure housing (6)

Set the by-pass setting on the new filter cartridge to position 3 by turning the by-pass adjustment cap (7) to align this position with
the reference mark on the filter cartridge.

Remove the cap (7)  from the new filter cartridge, use it  to  close the spent cartridge  and insert the new  filter cartridge (8) into the
housing (6).

Fit the cover (5) to the housing (6) and turn clockwise by hand until the stop is reached.

Slide up the locking device (3) again and ensure it engages into the pressure housing cap.

Fit the housing back into the head (2) and turn 90º in a clockwise direction until it locks into place.

Secure the pressure housing into the retaining clip if installed horizontally.

Turn the shut-off valve (4) to “ON”, open the water supply and switch back on the power supply to the appliance.

Check the system for any leaks and rectify as necessary.

Ensure  that  “Litres  Filtered”  is  set  to  zero  and  “Filter  Life”  is  set  to  3,000  litres  on  the  Hydrotap  (refer  to  Hydrotap  operating
instructions).

There is no need to flush the filter and the system is now ready for operation.

Note:

Optimum  performance  is  achieved  if  the  filter  is  exchanged  at  regular  intervals  and  before  it  has  become  exhausted.  The

capacity of the filter cartridge is  dependant  upon the carbonate  hardness  of the  drinking  water, the  type  of appliance and the by-
pass setting. A by-pass setting of 3 is recommended for maximum filter life in hard water areas. A maximum capacity of 3,000 litres
may be expected in typical hard water conditions but will reduce with more onerous local water conditions and usage. However, the
filter cartridge should be exchanged after 6 months regardless of the level of exhaustion.
