: Adjustments
12
1
Place the Starriser in a seating
position equipped with an approved
three-point safety belt.
2
Position the shoulder portion of the
safety belt, so that the belt runs
under the armrest nearest the buckle,
then through the belt clip (Fig. C).
• If the belt adjuster strap is too long or too
short, adjust the length so that the belt clip
fits snugly against the shoulder of the child.
3
Position the lap portion of the safety
belt, so that the belt runs under both
armrests.
4
Verify that the safety belt is properly
positioned, as described above, and
that there is no twisting in the safety
belt (Fig. D).
WARNING:
• The backrest must be properly installed, in Starriser Comfy
configuration, for use in vehicle seats that do not provide
adequate rear head support.
• DO NOT install this booster seat in the front seat of a vehicle with a
passenger air bag, unless the air bag is turned off.
• ALWAYS use the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt system when
restraining the child in this seat.
IMPORTANT:
This section applies only to the Starriser. If you are
using a Starriser Comfy, refer to page 8.
The purpose of the Starriser belt-adjusting booster without
backrest is to adapt the adult vehicle
safety belt to the body size of the child.
It is important to adjust the width of the
booster base correctly and to use the belt
guide to properly align the safety belt.
Adjusting the Base
The armrests of the Starriser must be
snug against the hips of the child to
properly align the lap belt across the
child’s hips.
1
Turn the width adjustment knob
counter-clockwise to loosen. (Fig. A)
2
Pull sides of booster apart. (Fig. B)
3
Adjust width as shown in Figure B.
4
Turn the width adjustment knob
clockwise to tighten. (Fig. A)
• Make sure that the cover fasteners are
properly adjusted to the new position.
NOTE:
As your child grows, further
width adjustments will be necessary.
