Position the bracket so that it’s footrest sits firmly on the stair tread and  

 

 

 

 

 

tighten the two short 13mm nut / bolts on either side of the bracket. Do not 

 

 

 

fix the bracket to the stair tread at this time.

handrail if fitted can now be  removed.
