Press the SPACEBAR to select a horizontal single- or double-line.
The SPACEBAR key switches between single-line and double-line
alternately. The default setting is the single-line. The cursor shows the
corresponding line type on the display like below:
If you want to print double-lines, install the daisy wheel that contains
the double-underline character, so that you can draw horizontal double
line with the framing function. If the daisy wheel you install does not
contain the double-underline character, the single-line is drawn.

REM EM BER...Horizontal lines always appear as single-line on the display.
When the cursor is moved to the horizontal lines (including the point of
intersection to the vertical line), the type of horizontal line is displayed on the
message lamp like this:
When the cursor is on the vertical lines, the message lamp shows nothing.

Press the CODE + CURSOR ( ^
, <—, or - > ) keys to draw lines.
The typewriter draws lines on the display as you press the keys. However
the cursor still stays at position #3 where you started pressing the CO D E
+ CURSOR keys.
If no tab stop is set at the current position, a new tab stop is
automatically set.
Double-line
If you select the different type of horizontal line (single or double) with
the SPACEBAR and draw lines over the existing ones, lines are replaced
with each other.
