R E M EM B ER ...If you change the number o f columns, column space, or
right/left margin(s) with the cursor located in any column other than the first
one, the forced column end is inserted together with the line format symbol
and the cursor is moved to the first column. The forced column end is
automatically cleared if the line format symbol concerned is deleted or it is
changed and the format is returned to the last settings,_____________________

When finished with typing the first column, press the COD E + E SET
(Column End) keys.
The cursor moves to the beginning of the second column. The display
shows the column end symbol.

Type the text for the second column.
[10] When finished with typing the second column, press the COD E + E SET
(Column End) keys.
The cursor moves to the beginning of the third (or last) column. The
display shows the column end symbol.
[11] Type the text for the third column.
[12] When finished with typing the third column, press the CO D E + E SET
(Column End) keys.
The cursor exceeds the last line o f the longest column and moves to the
beginning o f the first column. The display shows the column end symbol.
Now you can type a different block of multi-column text. For practice,
continue steps to cancel the multi-column function.
[13] Press the CODE + COLUM N keys.
The display shows the current number of columns.
[14] Type the number "1" in the entry area "NUMBER OF COLUMN."
You may not need to type the column spaces on the entry area below.
[15] Press the CODE + COLUMN keys again.
The column number "1" becomes effective and the multi-column function
is canceled.
Once you type multi-columns of text, you can move around the columns with
the CURSOR keys.
To discard the multi-column function completely, move the cursor to the
format symbol where you started it with the
(M argin Release) key and
CURSOR keys and delete the symbol with the COD E + CORRECTION keys.
The line format settings including the multi-column function are cleared.
Note that pressing the ESC key immediately undos the deletion.
