2. Depending on the amount and type of wood chips used, the smokehouse usually starts smoking after 10 to 20 minutes
when it is set to maximum power. If the power is not set to maximum, the smoking may take more time to start. If the
power is set too low, no smoking may take place at all. Therefore, it is recommended to always start the smokehouse
at maximum power and then adjust the power desired after smoke appears.
3. The smoking time depends on many factors, such as e.g. those listed above. Low temperature and strong wind are
example of factors that prolong smoking. Thus, we recommended carrying out a lot of testing and gaining one’s own
experience.
Helpful tips
The drip tray is used for collecting grease dripping down during food smoking. The electric smokehouse is not a water
smoking device, so it is not necessary to add water to the tray, unless the food is supposed to be steamed.
The wood chip tray should always be placed at a location intended for it, not directly on the heating element.
The wood chips enable generating smoke that adds flavour to the meals. Any kind of aromatic hard wood can be used,
such as cherry, apple, beech, or alder wood (a wide selection of these is available in the offer of Browin). Wood chips
work much better than larger pieces of wood. Only a handful of wood chips should be used during smoking, since too
much smoke leaves a strong aftertaste. It is recommended to make the chips moist prior to using them.
