If you want to set the time, push the “Time” button and then use the “+” and “-” buttons for adjustment. The drying time is set in hours within the
range from 1h to 72h.
If you want to set the temperature, push the “Temp” button and then use the “+” and “-” buttons for adjustment. The temperature is set in 5°C
steps within the range from 35°C to 70°C,
After drying the products, turn the dryer off, remove the plug from the socket and wait for the products to cool down. Then move the products to
the container in which they will be stored.
When moving through the trays, heated air causes evaporation of water from the products dried. The drying time depends on the water content in
products and the degree of their fragmentation. For example, we recommended drying apples in slices not thicker than 5 mm. During drying we
recommend changing the positions of trays in order to obtain uniformly dried products. Drying products that contain a lot of water, such as plums,
grapes, or moist mushrooms, requires more time.
PREPARATION OF PRODUCTS FOR DRYING
Before being put into the dryer, the fruits, vegetables, etc. have to be washes thoroughly and the wiped dry.
CAUTION: Do not put dripping wet trays with products over the base featuring the dryer’s heating system.
The articles intended for drying should be fragmented into smaller parts or slices in such a manner as to enable arranging them freely on the trays.
The drying time of products depends on the thickness of pieces. If the products on certain levels are less dry, the trays can be swapped in such a
manner as to locate those with less dry products on the bottom - closer to the heating module. Some fruits feature a natural protective layer that slows
down the drying process. In case of such fruit, in order to reduce the drying time it is recommended to put them into hot water and cook them for 1-2
minutes, then immerse them in cold water, drain them, dry them, and subject them to the target drying in the dryer.
Fruit drying:
Wash the fruits and dry them thoroughly.
Remove the stones and cut off any rotten parts.
Cut fruit into slices that can be easily arranged on the trays.
Sprinkle the fruits with lemon or pineapple juice so that they retain their colour after they are dried.
Vegetable drying:
Wash the vegetables and dry them thoroughly.
Before drying, it is recommended to put vegetables into hot water and cook them for 1-5 minutes, then immerse them in cold water, drain them,
and dry them thoroughly.
Remove the stones and cut off any rotten parts.
Cut fruit into slices that can be easily arranged on the trays.
Drying of healing herbs:
It is recommended to dry young leaves of herbs.
After drying, the herbs should be put into paper bags and stored in a dry and dark place.
Storage of dried food:
The containers used for storing dried food should be clean and dry.
It is recommended to store dried products in glass containers with a metal lid, in a dark and dry place, in the temperature from 5°C to 20°C.
After the first week of storage it is necessary to check whether there is any humidity accumulated inside the container. If so, it means that the
products have been dried insufficiently and the drying process has to be repeated.
CAUTION: Do not put hot products from the dryer into the containers intended for their storage.
MAINTENANCE
Wash the trays in lukewarm water with added detergent. Wipe the dryer base with a wet cloth and then wipe it dry.
CAUTION: do not wash the
device base featuring the heating system in running water and do not immerse it!
