Battery Parallel Switch
Your boat is equipped with an emergency battery par-
allel switch located on the console. The switch con-
nects the engine starting batteries in parallel if one
engine will not start due to low battery voltage. The
switch controls a solenoid that connects the two
engine starting batteries. The switch is a three-posi-
tion rocker switch that is ON-OFF-ON. The center
switch position is OFF. Both the left and right switch
positions are momentarily ON when held down. When
you release the switch, it will return to the center OFF
position.
If one of your engines will not start due to low battery
voltage, use the battery parallel switch to provide
power from the other engine starting battery. With the
engine key switch in the OFF position, push and hold
the battery parallel switch ON to either the left or right
position. Note this position. While holding the battery
parallel switch ON, try to start the engine.
If the engine does not start, turn both the engine key
switch and battery parallel switch OFF. Then move
the battery parallel switch to ON in the opposite direc-
tion. While holding the battery parallel switch ON, try
to start the engine.
The solenoid has two yellow fuse holders wired to the
engine battery switches. These fuse holders are
located next to the solenoid. The fuses protect the
electrical wiring between the solenoid and battery par-
allel switch.
