For your own safety, it is vital that you read and understand
this manual before using the Firelight.  Be sure to follow all
safety instructions every time the lighter is used.  Failure to
follow the manual can result in property damage, serious
injury, or death.  Make yourself familiar with all of the
lighter’s parts and features before attempting to light it.
Keep this manual for future reference.

1.  Remove the LED unit from the

bottom of the Firelight (

Fig. 1

bracket counterclockwise and

in place, and reattach the LED
unit to the lighter.

•

Keep the Firelight out of the reach of children

•

Fill Firelight in well-ventilated areas only, and keep
away from sparks, flame, or any other heat source

6) Additional Suggestions

•

When filled, Firelight contains flammable gas under
pressure: never puncture or expose to temperatures
above 120° F (49° C)

•

For best lighter performance, use only premium butane
lighter fuel.

•

Make sure hands and Firelight are dry before igniting

•

If possible, keep the Firelight above freezing, and carry
it close to your body in extremely cold weather.  In low
temperatures, it may be necessary to warm the lighter
for a few seconds before igniting.

•

Ignite Firelight away from face and clothing

•

Do not touch burner to any surface being lit

•

Never tamper with the Firelight; only adjust it by using
the controls provided

•

Do not touch the burner coil with any object.

•

Keep Firelight lid closed when not in use

•

The flame should extinguish immediately upon release
of the ignition lever.  If the flame briefly continues to
burn after the lever has been released, move the flame
adjuster closer to the minus (-) sign.

2)  Filling the Lighter

1.  Unscrew the LED from the bottom of

the Firelight (

adjuster closer to the minus (-) sign to improve ease of
ignition.

2.  Set the flame adjustment near the

minus (-) sign.

  1.

•

For long term reliability, use compressed air to keep the
chamber free of debris and carbon buildup.

3.  Hold the unit upside down and insert

the butane refill canister’s nozzle into
the Firelight’s fuel inlet valve (

Fig. 2

).

•

IMPORTANT:  International aviation regulations
strictly prohibit the shipping or carrying of butane
gas on all commercial airlines.

  Before taking the

Firelight on an aircraft, press in on the fuel inlet valve
with a ballpoint pen or other suitable object until all
butane gas has been released from the lighter.  Check
with your airline for additional information.

4.  Press down firmly on the nozzle for

a few seconds.  When the fuel level
is full, a small air bubble will be
visible in the lighter’s fuel gauge
window.
