Putting someone on hold and transferring
the call
If after point

you do not want to wait for the answer from
the phone you want to transfer the call to:
• hang up;
• the telephone called rings
(e.g. 402);
• by picking up the handset
(e.g. 402) you will be
directly talking to the
external speaker.

If the transferred call is external and the extension called (e.g. 402)
does not answer, the phone that has activated the transfer (e.g. 401)
will ring after 25 seconds, hence signaling that there has been
no transfer.

Answering a second call during a
conversation (call notification tones)
If during a conversation another external or door-entry call
comes in, the switchboard will send a call notification tone
to the telephone in conversation.

If you want to answer, thus
ending the conversation
with the first speaker:
•
hang up;
wait until the telephone
rings;
•
pick up the handset to
answer the new call.
