3.14 TEMPORARY UNLOCKING OF PREFIXES
This service can temporarily unlock the prefix lock on a telephone if set up in the programming phase.
Dial
97
followed by the four figures of the password (base
1234
) (e.g. 971234);
If the password is not correct the exchange sends a time-out tone as an invitation to hang up.
If the password is correct you will hear a dial tone, the prefix lock is now deactivated.
On pressing
R
you will hear a start-dialling tone and will have 10 seconds to select the line (press
0
for automatic selection,
11
to select line 1 or
12
for line 2).
The user can then dial the telephone number.
After hanging up the prefix lock will once again be active on the telephone.
Warning
:
This service can only be used with touch-tone telephones.
3.15 AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION OF FAX OR MODEM
The exchange recognises if the incoming call is intended for a FAX or MODEM and automatically switches
to the correct line. Specific programming is needed to obtain this service.
When a call arrives the exchange answers with “
please hold the line
” and then waits for about 10 seconds
for a FAX or MODEM tone. If it does not hear this tone the call is sent to the enabled telephones; otherwise
it is sent to the extension programmed as FAX or MODEM.
For fast connection connect the MODEM as extension 1.
3.16 ACTIVATE FAST LINE
The outside telephone line can be connected directly to telephone
1
(401) for fast data transmission (e.g.
INTERNET access with a modem connected on number 1).
Program the modem so that

appears and insert a pause before the telephone number.

EMERGENCY NUMBERS NOT SUBJECT TO THE CALL LOCK
The procedure described above is not necessary to call the emergency numbers which in any
case are not subject to the prefix lock.
