System Components
The
SMART
200
MTC
system consists of a control/programming terminal and a
variable number of IS3W.. sensors
(up to 200)
connected to the terminal using
specific interface cables and installed near the stroke point, typically in front of the
drum, as shown on the example of page 2.3.
System’s Operating Principles
The IS3W/MTC (
Image Smart Scanning System – MeTer Counter
) sensors allow
you to perform an accurate measurement of the yarn meters wound on the various
positions of the textile machine.
The yarn, passing through the sloping grooves of the drum, enters and exits with
regular frequency
( stroke )
into the sensor’s detection zone, determining the
increment of a counter for each stroke. Besides the “meter counter” function, the
sensor is capable of signaling the following conditions through a STOP output:
-
reaching the number of set meters (
target
)
-
yarn steady/broken (
missing strokes
)
The fault control (
yarn steady/broken
) function can be either enabled or disabled
according to the user needs.
The SMART 200 MTC Terminal converts the number of strokes counted by each
counter into a number of wound yarn meters, by means of appropriate
programmable parameters, that can be adjusted through specific correction factors,
taking into account both: the physical characteristic of the machine (
drum
development, bobbin slipping, etc..
) and the characteristics of the article to be
processed.
The measurement, adjustment and control parameters can be programmed with
utmost simplicity on the SMART 200 MTC Terminal and can be associated with a
given article and saved to a database inside the terminal itself.
Depending on the article to be processed, the operator will then transfer all the
parameters associated with the article itself into the memory of each individual
sensor, through a simple command from SMART Terminal.
In addiction to the possibility of programming, displaying and transferring all
parameters that affect the operation and performance of sensors within the system,
the SMART 200 MTC Terminal allows the operator to carry out the following
functions:
-
To display in real-time and in graphical mode the value reached by the
counters indicating the number of meters wound for each machine position
controlled by an IS3W/MTC sensor.
-
To display the “Target reached” condition, for each machine position
-
To display the failure counter (
number of yarn breakage conditions
),
detected by each sensor during the system operation, as well as the counter
indicating the number of Target conditions reached for each sensor
-
To manually clear the counters
Furthermore, the possibility to print a report containing the summary of failures
detected by the sensors
(Production Report)
offers a valuable support for keeping
and improving the quality level of production.
