IS3W/MTC Sensor Features
SMART MATRIX MTC
3 - 5
Interface Specifications
The
IS3W/MTC
sensors communicate with the external environment using the following signals:
1 Output signal
(STOP)
.
2
Optical
signaling
(green and red LEDs)
1 Touch Light used by the operator to perform the sensor numbering and to manually reset the counter.
STOP signal
The STOP signal is an OPEN COLLECTOR output through which the
IS3W/MTC
sensor signals three
possible conditions:
-
Normal operation (
regular strokes of yarn inside the sensor detection zone
).
-
Missing yarn stroke inside the sensor detection zone (
broken / missing yarn failure
)
-
Target
reached
From the electrical point of view, the STOP output can be configured either as a Normally Open (
STOP
OUTPUT: NO
) contact or as a Normally Closed (
STOP OUTPUT: NC
) contact, while for what concerns the
timing, it can be configured either as a continuous signal (
STOP TIME: CONT
) or as a 2 seconds/10 seconds
pulse signal (
STOP TIME: PULSE 2s o PULSE 10s
) to indicate a failure condition, and as a continuous
signal
STOP TYPE: CONT
) or as a 4 Hz square signal (
STOP TYPE: SQUARE
), to indicate the Target
reached condition.
Starting from the Software Version 4.0, the STOP signal may be used to fulfill a further function:
- Possibility to temporarily interrupt the meter count, by forcing the STOP signal to Ground (EXT
RESET)
(the count will restart as soon as the STOP signal returns to high electrical level).
Obviously this function can be used only if the STOP signal has been programmed as Normally Open
(STOP OUTPUT: NO) contact.
Otherwise (STOP OUTPUT: NC), the function will have no effect.
