CONFIGURING THE NETWORK IDENTITY:
PART 1: FIRST TIME LOGIN
The K2,K3, and K4 appliances must first be localized onto the LAN it will be installed on. To do
this you must first access the Web Interface for the first time by one of two methods:
• Setting your computer to an IP address in the range of 192.168.1.1-102.168.1.254, then
connect a CAT 5 cable directly between the recorder and your computer. Note: this cable
connection is NOT an Ethernet crossover cable.
• Connecting your computer to a router which has the capability of connecting devices and
automatically assigning an IP address by Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). This
would be the preferred method as you will not have to manually change the IP address of
your computers Ethernet adapter, then change it back when you have finished. Note: this
router must be configured to assign IP addresses in the range of 192.168.1.1-102.168.1.254,
as most are.
Open a browser (Chrome is preferred) on your computer and type in the appliances’s default IP address
of 192.168.1.55 to launch the log in screen.
The default credentials to log in
for the first time is:
