Troubleshooting
This chapter details frequently asked questions about your heating
system and their respective answers. This will, in many cases,
enable you to troubleshoot perceived faults. At the end of the
chapter, faults and their remedies are listed in a table.
10.1 Frequently asked questions
Why do I set a room
temperature, even
though it is not
measured?
When you set the room temperature, even though the room
temperature is not measured, you change the heating curve. This
also changes the room temperature. When you set the room
temperature, the temperature of the water in the boiler changes
and hence the temperature of the radiators (see "How does the
RC30 work?", page 5).
Why does the room
temperature measured
with a separate
thermometer not
correlate with the set
room temperature?
Different values influence the room temperature. If the RC30 is
mounted against a cold wall, it will be influenced by the cold
temperature of the wall. If it is installed in a warm part of the room,
e.g. close to a radiator, it will be influenced by the heat from that.
This is why a separate thermometer can display a different room
temperature from that set on the RC30.
To compare the actual room temperature with the values
measured by another thermometer, the following are important:
If you have checked these points and there is still a discrepancy,
you can use the "Calibrating the room temperature" function (see
Chapter 9.4 "Calibrating the room temperature", page 64).
–
The separate thermometer and the RC30 must be located
close together.
–
The separate thermometer must be accurate.
–
Do not compare the room temperatures when the heating
system is in the process of heating up as the RC30 and the
separate thermometer may respond to the increasing room
temperature at different speeds.
