Installing or Removing the Motherboard
Warning
This procedure must only be performed by a service represen-
tative certified by Bull.
Removing the Motherboard
1.
Make sure the power switches for the computer, video monitor and any
peripheral devices are turned OFF and unplug the power cord (see
“General
Safety Information” on page 126
).
2.
Disconnect the monitor and peripheral devices from the system.
3.
Remove the server cover. Refer to
“Removing the Server Cover” on page 154
.
4.
Remove the processor air duct. Refer to
“Removing the Processor Air Duct”
on page 156.
5.
Remove the PCI riser assembly. Refer to
“Removing the PCI Riser Assembly”
on page 194
.
6.
Disconnect all cables attached to the motherboard.
7.
Remove the heatsink and processor. Refer to
“Removing a Processor” on
page 188
.
8.
Remove the memory modules. Refer to
“Removing and Replacing a DDR2
module” on page 192
