Adjustments:

Blade Depth

To increase the cut depth, rotate the 
adjustment knobs clockwise. Ensure that 
both knobs are rotated an equal amount. (C)

Hydraulic Fluid Levels

Approximately every 90 days, refill your 
hydraulic cylinders using 0W30 motor oil or 
ISO32 oil. (This is included in the 

Paladin 9” 

Maintenance Kit #1009SMK.)
1.  Tip shear so blade is on top. (You should    
 

have a helper hold it.)

2.  Remove fill plugs with 7/16” socket.
3.  Carefully top off hydraulic cylinders.  

 

 

NOTE: It will not take much.

4.  Coat plug threads with PTFE tape or  

 

 

thread sealant. Replace fill plugs.

5.  Set shear back on it’s feet.

and steel-toed boots when 

operating or bystanding.

3. Operation

Insert plank to desired cut position. Ensure that groove is 
seated against the tongue of one of the support planks.

Pull actuation toggle until cut is complete. (B)

Note: The ‘drop’ piece is cut with a steep bevel, while the ‘keep’ 

piece is cut squarely.
