Possible Causes of Operational Problems and Their Removal 

a)

Fire is difficult to light up and then goes out after a short while 
 

cause 

(solution) 

a)

wet or resinous wood  

(use dry hardwood)

b)

low pressure in the room  

(open a window near the stove for a few minutes)

c)

clogged central air supply  

(check the central air control)

d)

central air supply may be completely or partially blocked  

(disconnect the central air supply and attempt to light the fire using only air in the room)

e)

chimney damper blocked with soot 

(check and clean chimney damper) 

f)

incorrect lighting procedure  

(observe the lighting procedure)

g)

low chimney draught  

(check the chimney, turn off the extractor hood)
