4.1.4  Ink Line Priming 

To ensure the system continues to work properly, the inkline between the regulators and 

the ink pens should be primed if more than 4” of air in the tube is visible between the 

regulator and the head. 

1. 

Hold up the inkline that connects the regulators to the ink pens and tap 
each inkline gently to allow the air bubbles to rise up from the ink pens. 

2. 

Disconnect the ink pens from the regulator. 

3. 

Connect the priming tool (the syringe tool) to the regulator’s quick 
disconnect connector.  

4. 

Hold the syringe higher than the tubing (

Figure 4-2

) and draw the ink 

into the syringe.  Be sure to do this slowly and watch for air bubbles in 
the syringe. 

5. 

Once the bubbling has stopped, disconnect the syringe and reconnect 
the regulator back to the ink pens.
