2.2.1 Rocker
Switches
There are two main rocker switches on the front panel. The
POWER
switch turns on and off
the main power to the base including the vacuum blower. The
Feed Enable
switch is used to
enable and disable the functionality of an auxiliary feeder. When enabled, the feeder will
start and stop with the base. When disabled, the feeder will remain off while the base
transport is on. In addition, when the
Feed Enable
is off, the base will not start any
upstream units.
2.2.2 Pushbuttons
There are two main pushbuttons on the front panel. The
START
button starts the base as
well as any interconnected units (i.e. feeders, bases, and conveyors) while the
STOP
button
stops the system.
2.2.3 Run/Jog Selector Knob
The Run/Jog selector is a knob that permits a choice between continuous and intermittent
machine operation. When the
Run
mode has been selected and the
Start
button is pressed,
the machine will operate continuously. In the
Jog
mode, the machine will cycle only as long
as the
Start
button remains pressed.
2.2.4 Control
Dials
The two main production control dials on the instrument panel are the
Base
and
Conveyor
dials. They control the speed of the transport base and the optional conveyor respectively.
In general, a clockwise rotation of the dial will increase the speed while a counter-clockwise
rotation will decrease the speed.
